"Every page is deliciously breathtaking, wickedly sexy and sensational. A LITTLE TOO HOT is wonderfully unique and a LOT HOT! I am a HUGE Lisa Desrochers fan." --KATY EVANS, New York Times bestselling author of REAL
If you play with fire…
Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.
Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.
Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.
Samantha West is screwing up her life and her parents have had enough. They throw her out of the house and now she's couch surfing until she can pull herself together. With the help of a one night stand that turned into a long lasting friendship, Sam lands a job at Benny's, a gentleman's club, as an exotic dancer. She's never danced professionally, but she's learned some tricks while dancing at her bestie's gigs his band played, and now she'll use her skills to earn a paycheck. The first night one stage, Sam flounders at first until she spots a familiar face in the crowed and then something just clicks and she brings it. The descriptions of the way Samantha moves is perfect, and you'll feel like you're there as she embraces her inner goddess in the name of getting a little payback...though it's not what you're probably thinking. Which is what's so great about this story! When you think you have something figured out, the author throws us readers a wicked curve ball, and we have no choice but to hang on for the ride. And what a ride it is.
Now I know some of you may be going "Now hold up! I've read this kind of story before...", but I promise it's not stale. Ms. Desrochers gives the tried troupe new legs to stand on with stunning craftiness. I LOVED the direction the author took this story and the characters she created. Samantha and Harrison's connection is palpable and completely erotic in an almost innocent kind of way. And I have to give major kudos for the pacing of the story. I didn't feel like things were rushed nor too slow. Also, no eye rolling for me. Nothing about this story was cheesy in my book, and all of these elements make for one highly satisfying read. I also really appreciated the fact that even though exes are mentioned...it's not really a factor or harped on too much. There are other elements that drive the romance and I loved that about this book.
This story had suspense, kept me on my toes, made me swoon and sigh with giddiness, and in some parts I longed for the happy ending that readers can expect from this amazing author. I can't wait to see what Ms. Desrochers has up her sleeve next!
