There’s a Spanish proverb that says, “From the thorn and the pain, a flower is born.” Naomi Duran never really understood what that meant until she became an archangel.
Finally reunited with the love of her life, Naomi thought she had everlasting love and happiness in Heaven. Even with the rebellious Lash by her side, she learns that life as an archangel isn’t easy.
When secrets of the past are finally revealed, tempers flare, brother is pitted against brother, and Naomi and Lash face the greatest threat to their relationship: choosing among love, family, or duty.
In the end, can this family of broken angels forgive past mistakes, or will they carry the thorn in their hearts forever, ripping their family apart?
Naomi thought that her existence as an angel was perfect - as long as Lash was with her. Training with the archangels has been a bit of a challenge. She has had to learn how to deal with being separated from her family and somehow try to convince Lash to reconcile with his. So when she is sent on her first assignment, she discovers the Lash had a part in the one painful event that changed her life forever and she begins to doubt his love for the very first time.
“He dropped his head against his chest, not wanting Raphael to see the tears forming in his eyes. The look of pain and betrayal on her face was seared into his mind. She didn’t have to say goodbye to him; her silence said it for her. “My son, she is not gone forever. She’s merely off on assignment. She will return to you.” “I know she’ll come back, but will she come back to me? Can she forgive me?”
“He remembered holding her in his arms when he first told her that he was an angel. The way her body molded perfectly into his. The way her fingers gently stroked his jaw and how she reached out to kiss him. And then the torment of him pulling away from her, afraid to kiss her because once he did, he wouldn’t be able to let her go. And the blissful moment when he finally did kiss those lips and discover that he had found home in her arms. She was his destiny, his soul mate.”
