His Secrets Can Destroy Her
From the moment Josie laid eyes on sexy, mysterious Shane Dean, she was in love. Their desire ignited a passionate affair, and within weeks, Shane had slipped a ring on her finger. It seemed her every fantasy was coming true . . . until her new husband disappeared without a trace. Now, two years and one broken heart later, Josie is shocked by the hospital calls: Shane has been found . . . at a crime scene with no memory of how he got there.
Her Love Can Save Him
Shane can't remember the blue-eyed angel at his bedside—or who he even is—but he knows something isn't right. His hearing is razor sharp, his physical strength incredible, and the urge to protect Josie overwhelming. For powerful enemies are hunting him, and Josie is the key to discovering why. As Shane struggles to unravel his past, dangerous new truths come to light. Can he protect the only woman he's ever loved? And can Josie trust a man she thought she knew—one who carries such a deadly secret?
It was brilliant.
Then the next chapters starts off 20 years later we meet Josie. A lonely woman who was abandoned as a child and had to grow up in unloving foster homes. Devoid of love her whole life, it's obviously something she tries to hold on to and capture in her adult years, and when she meets Shane, she grabs on to that happiness and marries him after only 2 months. But we all know you can't really know someone after such short time.
Shane walks out on Josie and for two years the why haunts her. Why did he leave her without so much as a goodbye? With her heart broken and left to pick up the pieces, she expects to never here from her husband again. Until one day she gets called to the hospital. Shane is there with no memory of how he ended up there. He can't even remember her, though right off the bat he feels something for her and his protectiveness rears its head as does his alpha male tendencies.
The summary is perfect. It's right on with what the story is about, and it's not misleading. There's a reason Shane is being hunted and why Josie is in danger. I was captivated from the start and could not put this book down. VERY suspenseful. However some of the action and drama was a little predictable and sometimes I felt that the author was trying a bit too hard. At one point Josie gets taken, she gets away...and then she gets taken again. But I can say I wasn't able to figure out how everything would pan out until the very end.
We also get to meet Shane's brothers. The ones I mentioned at the beginning, and I'm very anxious to see how the Sins Brothers series plays out. The book ends with some unanswered questions that really hooks you in. I promise this book doesn't end on a cliffy for Josie or Shane though. Their story is told practically in full to leave you satisfied, and the series is open for the next books where the other brothers will be prominent.
Overall this was a great debut for the series, and it was my first read for author Rebecca Zanetti. I love a good romantic suspense, and this had it all.
