An old flame rekindled . . .
Zara Cinders always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn't interested in settling down. When she found someone who was, Ham walked out of her life. Three years later, Zara's lost her business, her marriage, and she's barely getting by in a tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks. As soon as Ham hears about Zara's plight, he's on her doorstep offering her a lifeline. Now, it will take every ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.
Ham was always a traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more time than absolutely necessary. But Ham's faced his own demons, and he's learned a lot. About himself, and about the life he knows he's meant to live. So when he hears that Zara's having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact, he wants to do more than that for Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he's a changed man.
Zara Cinders has had it far from easy in her life. But that never stopped her from working or loving hard. She just had the bas luck to fall in love with a man who had been burned so bad that he never wanted to settle down again. There would never be anyone else for her but Graham Reece and even marrying another man could not erase the ache in her heart that only he could fill. And even losing everything she holds dear doesn’t come close to the pain she felt when he walked away.
“He could see it in his head. The image burning deep, that first goodbye, standing by his truck, her in his arms, smiling her sweet smile, her pretty brown eyes sad that he was going but understanding that was him. Giving him that. Giving him up. Letting him be who he was and taking him as he came.
He’d been her one. It took him years to realize she was his.
And she’d let him go so he could be who he had to be.
And he’s let her go so he could be a motherfucking asshole.”
“I wanna smell my roses while you’re inside me,” I whispered and I got another flash before he dipped his head and his mouth was on mine.”
Ham really proved himself to be deserving of Zara (even though I had my doubts at the beginning of the book!) and in the end he made me cheer, he made me swoon and he made me wish that every girl could have her own Colorado Man…
