Who is Sebastian Lock?
Sophia had never felt attraction like that before. Raw. Electric. Irresistible. Swept off her feet by the dashing, enigmatic billionaire Sebastian Lock, she was taken on a journey of self-discovery, taken to places she never dreamed she’d go.
But things are never as simple as they appear. Sophia’s trust is a fragile thing, and Sebastian seems insistent on testing it. He has his own demons to battle, and nobody has brought them to the fore like she has.
As their relationship deepens, and Sophia begins to break down his walls, all that greets her are more questions. Why is Sebastian fighting so hard to keep her at a distance? Who is the girl on the background of his phone? And why does the strange tattoo on his chest seem so familiar?
These puzzles plague her, but as Sebastian’s mysteries begin to unravel, she must face an entirely different truth. Staying in the dark may be painful, but finding the answers could be deadly.
Lockout immediately follows the first book in The Alpha Group series, Locked. This series is very much a serial read, meaning you do need to read the books in order to follow the story. Each book is a little over hundred pages and they can end with some wicked cliff hangers. Luckily, Maya Cross seems to be pumping this series out pretty fast so the wait isn't too killer. The 3rd book, Unlocked is due out some time in August.

Its near impossible to write a review on this series without spoiling something so...you've been warned. I'll try not to give everything away however. At the end of the last book, Sophia had just found a text on Sebastian's phone that had her leaving him for good. She's not going to be with the man if he is going to get half naked pics sent to him with messages that signify that he has a little something-something on the side. But Sebastian won't leave her alone until he can plead his case. This is where this book picks up. She ultimately hears him out and believes he is telling the truth so they tentatively get back together, but he has to leave the country on business, giving them both some breathing room to put their relationship in perspective. While Sebastian is away, he sends her some naughty gifts with orders to execute and Sophia can't help but obey, even with him thousands of miles away.
The thing with serial series, is that things end very abruptly (to obviously get you to buy the next book) and not a lot really happens. Most of the time in Lockout, Sebastian and Sophia are separated, so there isn't a lot of screen time with them together, but Sophia uses this time to research a tattoo that Sebastian has that she saw on a dead guy on the news on late night. I did like this aspect of the book. There's definitely something going on that Sebastian is hiding, and GAH I can't wait til this thing plays itself out. The cliffhanger to this one was a doozy. (Insert evil laugh here)
This series is erotic in nature with a dash of BDSM. It doesn't over power the whole story. Sebastian and Sophia mix it up in the bedroom, from sweet love making to spanking. I'm really looking forward to Unlocked and with each book I have been giving them 3 Olives, but I have a feeling that if I lump all the books together as if it were 1 book it would get a higher olive score of a 4...or possible even a 5...just depending on how things play out. But since these are novellas, it's almost impossible to give each one more than a 3 at this time. I'll give an overall series score once I've completed reading and reviewing them.
For those interested in reading this series, Maya Cross does her readers a fan by offering them up for realllllly cheap so that softens the blow of having to wait and buy each book separately.
