Ten years, the Atlantic Ocean, and several rungs in society have kept Xavier Cain from having Sophia Montel. Now twenty-seven, he’s spent his entire adult life building a fashion empire that could finally prove his worth to her family. When fate reunites him with Sophia at London’s premiere fashion show, one problem lodges in Xavier’s path: Sophia doesn’t remember him.
The only obstacle that has kept Sophia from Xavier is a horrific car crash that erased her memory at seventeen. She’s spent the last ten years fighting to reclaim a sliver of her past that her mother refuses to help her remember. When Sophia meets Xavier at the London show, however, all her fantasies come to life in one night of passion. Discovering he is the missing link, she is determined to find all the pieces to their love story and her memory.
Xavier wants forever. Sophia wants her memory. If they take this chance, they’ll have to start over. How far are they willing to go get what they want? And when the past catches up to them, can they handle the truths it has hidden?
Oh my! If you love reading about love, passion, lust, drama and a little bit of angst Justine Dell’s Recaptured Dreams is the book for you.
Recapture Dreams starts you right of the bat with Sophia, a 27-year-old woman that is being pressured by her mother and grandmother to be something she doesn’t want to be. They want her to be married to someone they think she should marry and not someone she wants, but Sophia is very independent and strong minded about her wants and will do anything in her power to achieve it.
But there is a slight problem, Sophia won’t be able to move on and do those things until she puts together the pieces of her past. A past that was taken away after a tragic accident and unbeknown to her a big part of her heart and life.
Throughout the story we see how she struggles to put the pieces together and how her mother is obviously hiding something from her. She always asks questions, but her mother avoids them or turns them around only making Sophia more confused until she meets Xavier.
Xavier is a fashion designer that Sophia has always admired since she could remember. She buys his clothing and pretty much is all she wears. She just thinks that he is a man that most women would fantasize about and when she meets him she can’t understand the instant connection she has with him. Little does she know that Xavier Caine is a big part of her past and the main piece of the puzzle.
Recaptured Dreams is a page turner, even after the reader figures out what is happening, you cant wait until Sophia puts the pieces together and figures it out for herself. You can’t help but want to skip ahead and read, especially to those hot, steamy and lustful pages that you know are coming, but beware that once you get to the ending you might want to have tissues available, because the tears will come.
I loved the story, and I wish there was more Xavier and Sophia to devour. If Justine Dell wrote more about them, I would definitely read it!
Recapture Dreams gets 5 olives, and I would recommend it for anyone over 18.
