The first in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Redhead series is a playful and erotic romance between an aspiring actress and Hollywood’s hottest new leading man.
When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actress, it’s a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best-friend agent, will that dream become a reality—or at thirty-three, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? And when an unexpected sizzling romance with Jack Hamilton, the entertainment industry's newest “it” boy, threatens to shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life, how will that affect her career…and his?
Funny, borderline neurotic Grace is perfect in her imperfections, and the sexual chemistry between her and charming yet blissfully unaware Jack is off the charts. With laugh-out-loud dialogue and a super-steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the paparazzi has never been so fun.
"It's always the accent that drives you American women crazy. I'd no idea you fancied it, too..." he trailed off.
"Oooh, fancied it. Say more like that," I begged, smiling into the pillow."
"Like what, Grace?"
"Talk British to me," I whispered, only half joking.
"More," I encouraged.
"More!" I demanded.
Jack is so much fun and really balances out Grace's craziness. They fall easily into an exclusive relationship that has the media scrtaching their head asking, "who's this unidentified redhead?" And Holly, Jack's manager wants him to play it cool so he'll seem available to help boost his image, but he won't let that stop him frm pursuing Grace hard. (ahem)
This is an erotica, but it's really sweet and very hot. Just nothing kinky or crazy. I loved each moment when these two came together (pun intended *wink wink*). Grace is the type of girl you want to be best friends with. She's fun, doesn't act her age, speaks her mind and says whatever she wants, and everybody loves her. She's secretly really self conscience about the age difference, and she used to be heavier, just recently losing weight. So what would Jack want with a middle aged woman when he could have the nip & tuck bunnies of LA hopping at his feet? Jack is just so devoted to Grace that he doesn't see the scores of women lining up to be with him. He only has eyes for her. And don't let his age fool you. At times, he seems more level headed and mature than Grace. He's very grounded and doesn't let his fame get to his head.
"Grace, I will focus on nothing else in life until you come. I will start it and I will fucking finish it."
Oh. My. God. The Brit was a little dirty birdie. I scraped myself off the floor and tried to start breathing again. "Hamilton, I have no words for you."
"Good. I like you speechless. Now let me go work so I can get to you faster," he teased and hung up.
Christ on a crutch...
There's a second book in the series called, The Redhead Revealed and I'm about to start reading it because the first book leaves off with Jack and Grace just starting out and now they're facing a long distance relationship. I can't wait to see how things turn out. I HIGHLY recommend you read this one if you haven't already ladies. :D
